The Dutch brothers David and Simon Groen started making short videos when they were only 8 years old. They began with action movie spoofs intended for their family. As time went on, the videos became more and more comical and absurd. In 2005, the brothers had an internet video hit with the commercial spoof  ‘Starwars Mosquito Defense System’. Because of this success, they started their Dutch television careers as part of the late night talk show “Jensen”.

Today the Amsterdam based Groen Brothers make videos for a variety of Dutch TV shows, and also comedy content for mobile devices, comedic instructional videos and commercials. A pilot episode of their first sketch show is currently in production.

David and Simon were the first Dutch men to graduate at the Humber School of Comedy in Toronto, Canada. There they learned the tricks of the trade of the comedy business, at extreme low temperatures. Among their inspirations are: Monty Python, MadTV, Mr. Show, Mr. Bean and The Muppet Show.
 

Simon Groen

Simon graduated in acting. Next to acting, Simon loves to design and create props, used in the Groen Brothers’ videos. He sometimes spends hours searching different stores, often many miles apart, just to find that one perfect part. Like for instance this little mirror satellite, used in the ‘Starwars Mosquito Defense System’ video. Simon is also a public speaker and gives comedic presentations at corporate events. Simon is addicted to desserts, bananas, and especially to desserts containing bananas.

David Groen

David is the younger brother. He graduated as a film director from the Utrecht school of arts. Next to being an actor, David is also the film director of the Groen Brothers videos. He recently discovered that Simon’s face is even funnier when shot in a close up using a wide angle lens. David loves rice pudding and pan flute music. He regularly performs as an improv actor in several acclaimed theatre groups in Amsterdam.
